SunRail Running Later Southbound Trains For Game Nights – Expanded Service For Select Magic Home Games In November

Orlando – Good news for SunRail riders along the southern expansion route. The SunRail team and Bombardier—SunRail’s operations and maintenance contractor—are running special late-night trains heading southbound from Church Street Station. The later train service coincides with six Orlando Magic home games on Nov. 2, 5, 7, 9, 14 and 20 at the Amway Center. If passengers—attending the game or staying downtown late—wish to take the southbound train home those nights, they should make their way to the southbound platform at Church Street Station, where the train leaves for points south at 10:30 p.m. Regular fares apply.

Ridership following the launch of SunRail’s southern expansion the end of July has jumped as southern customers have gotten aboard. On the northbound route, the last train normally leaves Church Street at 10:30 p.m. The SunRail team believes a second train, leaving from the southern Church Street Station platform at the same time, enhances leisure service for its southern customers. SunRail is working with Bombardier to explore other opportunities. The decision to launch this special service follows a test run Tuesday, Oct. 30.

Please be careful around trains, railroad crossings, and while at station platforms. Be smart. Be safe. For more information about SunRail, including fares, schedule and station locations, please visit www.stage.sunrail.com.
